Saturday morning we woke up and got ourselves ready to go to the oldest toy store with the Bailey boys and Matt. He invited us figuring we would be interested in going. Of course we were! Hamley’s was the toy store we went to and was seven stories. This year is actually its 250th anniversary so it was extra special. Ashlin, Dana, Jeana, ReBecca, and I went with the crew. We had a lot of fun exploring all the floors with the little guys. There sure were a lot of toys to look at!
I found it a little sad that I didn’t recognize half of the toys. Apparently I need to get back in the loop. The toys have changed quite a bit from what I remember. The Barbie sections wasn’t as exciting as us girls were hoping….just not a huge selection. We missed out on seeing Barbie…she was going to be at the store on Tuesday. The boys weren’t too upset about this. They wanted to avoid the girl floor like the plague. I guess that was pretty understandable.
We explored every level and then it was time for the boys to make their selections. They ended up getting a dart board that seems to be a huge hit. After we finished exploring the toy store we went our separate ways. The boys went home while the girls went shopping. We were in the Oxford area which is absolutely packed with stores. First we explored this little area where no traffic was allowed. It was a nice little haven in the chaos. We just ended up walking around on Oxford after that and going in stores we liked as we passed them. Shopping sure does wipe you out but it was fun getting to check out some new stores.
After getting our fill of shopping we headed back to our flats. We had planned to go to a haunted house that evening but it didn’t end up happening. Instead we had another night in. We had considered going out but changed our minds after being able to relax in our flat. Some people did go out though and once they left we got a little bit of peace. We were all craving some milkshakes at night so we ended up making a late night McDonald’s run. We had some good times reminiscing before heading back to our flats and going to bed.
