Beginning of Week Five

Monday we had another full day in the classroom but it ended up taking a turn for the better. As I have mentioned our directors have been getting on our cases about being engaged in class and on Monday that finally happened and they were really happy with the way class went! Huge relief because as we were all headed to class in the morning we were freaking out about what the day might hold. Class ended up being a lot of fun and our professor changed the lesson plans twice just to fit the way the class was flowing. At night he even sent us an email about how happy he was with us and it definitely made the night even sweeter! To top if off it was extremely beautiful outside for our walk in the afternoon.

The day just kept getting better though as we headed to Billy Elliot The Musical at night. It was absolutely fantastic and I think everyone should see it, particularly dancers. We all laughed and cried (tears of happiness and sorrow). Okay maybe only the girls cried but it still gripped everyone's heart. The musical was especially enjoyable because we actually understood the London references that were made during it. Made me feel like I really am starting to fit into this city! Monday just went to show that no matter what our feelings were at the beginning of the day they can quickly turn around. I have to say the only part that ended up being negative about Monday is the fact that all of us girls who went horseback riding were in some pain. Our afternoon walk really helped stretch us all out and now I feel like I am finally recovered from the our little horseback riding adventure (it only took three days!).

On Tuesday Jeana and I woke up at 10:30 and did a little bit of homework before we headed off to Brit Pop class. Class was extremely fun as it always is with Rob. This week we talked about the early 70's and focused on Prag Rock and Glam Rock. To wrap up we got to hear a little bit of Disco :) Rob absolutely hates disco and most of Glam Rock so it was really entertaining to hear him trash talk the music. He did respect it as a whole, he moreso just made fun of it a little bit questioning why songs needed 14 minute introductions and that sort of thing. Highly amusing class as always.

After class I spent the rest of the night cleaning, doing laundry, catching up on my blog, doing homework and skyping with the family. I've been really busy this week trying to get everything done before we head off for Italy/Greece! The excitement continues to grow but the reality hasn't quite set in yet. As one girl said tonight..."sometimes I still don't believe I'm in London!" Life in London does require you to pinch yourself from time to time to make sure your not actually dreaming the whole thing!
