Just now we booked our first weekend trip to Wales!!!!!!! We are so excited we can hardly contain ourselves! We will be going to on a two day trip…the first day we will be visiting a castle and sightseeing and the second day we will be horseback riding all day! We will be there October 9th and 10th and we can’t wait!
With that being said the rest of the day was full of excitement as well. This morning we checked out the Science Museum for our walking class and went through an interactive exhibit called “Who Am I?” It was pretty cool and fun. Quite a great way to learn instead of having to read out of a textbook! After we went to the museum we had about an hour and a half before our next class. Denise decided that we should go exploring and find a cute place for lunch so we hopped on the tube and got off at one of the central spots in London. We found a cute little Italian place and I ended up getting margarita pizza and it was fantastic…probably my best meal here so far. On the down side we were slightly late to class because it was a sit down restaurant and we had only planned to grab a sandwich somewhere. But we lucked out because the classroom we were supposed to have class in got moved and we were not the only ones who were unable to find class.
I had my British pop music class today and it was really interesting! At first though I must admit I was pretty tired from a great lunch and was kind of falling asleep but towards the second part of class (each class is two hours long) we started listening to music from America and here and comparing them. We started our class in the 1950s and are going to go through the history up until today. In the 1950s the music here was pretty lame, according to our professor, because they didn’t have their own style like we Americans did. It was really neat being able to see the difference as he played our music and then played British music. According to our professor British music had no soul and were just wanna bes. That’s the short version and does his lecture no justice but it was really interesting.
After that class I was done for the day. I got to come back and practically have the flat to myself which was super nice to just be alone for a little bit of time because that is not something that comes easily here. So I enjoyed my time to myself cleaning my room and just relaxing. I did do a bit of homework too. Later everyone came back and Jeana and I went grocery shopping. We made dinner together tonight and it was fantastic…we were so proud of it that we took a picture of our meal. We made stir-fry from fresh vegetables and frozen rice. Yummmmmy. Quite a filling meal…I definitely ate well today :) After dinner we all just talked and hung out and then decided we should start planning our weekend trips. We booked the Wales trip and have not been researching some other options. Next weekend we are looking into Amsterdam because Ashlins family is going to be there and they said we could stay with them. We’re super excited to begin our weekend travels!!!!
That’s all I have for tonight! Time to sleep so that we can prepare for our day trip to Greenwich!
Well I'm definitely jealous that you get to visit a real castle, thats pretty sweet. I don't know about the horse back riding lol but I'm sure you will enjoy it.
